    Maestra: Quiero hoy, amigos míos, volver a repetir algunas cosas que ya he explicado antes. ¡Es tan necesaria la repetición para recordar!

    Alumno: Señora, ¿por qué dice Vd. volver a repetir? "To return to, to repeat", no comprendo la idea.

    Maestra: Ustedes, en inglés, tienen la palabra "again" para expresar la repetición de una acción. Nosotros, en español, no tenemos una palabra, y expresamos que la acción se repite con el verbo volver a y el infinitivo. Por ejemplo, "she comes again", ella vuelve a venir. El verbo inglés "comes" se convierte en infinitivo en español y el verbo volver a que usamos en lugar de "again" toma el número, tiempo y modo del verbo inglés: Volví a escribir, "I wrote again".
